The Inspiration Behind the Design
The model takes free inspiration from the Orthanc Tower, as envisioned in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Alex Bonelli, a passionate Tolkien fan and skilled LEGO designer, has been crafting Middle-earth inspired locations since 2019, with several of his works published on Rebrickable and Patreon.
Architectural and Design Challenges
Crafting this model required deep attention to proportions and details, as the original tower features intricate rock formations, sharp spires, and deep engravings that make it instantly recognizable. Using advanced techniques, the design captures the Numenórean black stone, known for its unbreakable strength in Tolkien’s lore.

What makes The Wizard’s Black Tower truly special is its modular design, divided in 9 sections and designed to house key scenes from Middle-earth. Builders can personalize the tower’s interior decor, adding their own Middle-earth-inspired elements.
